This summer has seen a sharp decrease in the appearances of crop circles. Several theories are brewing as to the cause of the decrease. Hot weather sounds the most logical to me because I believe that these creations are caused by humans and not extraterrestrials.
Another theory is that farmers are sick of getting their fields trampled and are destroying the circles as they appear. That makes perfect sense. Although these creations are beautiful, I can’t imagine the amount of money these farmers lose every year.

On the opposite side of the spectrum, UFO enthusiasts fear that the aliens have given up on us and moved on to another galaxy. With all the political upheaval going on right now, who can blame them? I’d get the heck out of Dodge, too.

In late September 1984, Rita Gallagher, a popular romance novelist, moved into an old Victorian mansion in the small central Texas town of Navasota. In her eyes, the house was the perfect writer’s retreat, for in addition to being the author of such novels as Passion Star, Shadows on the Wind, and Shadowed Destiny, Rita was a highly respected teacher of writing and one of the founding members and the first president of the Romance Writers of America. She knew that her students would love it in the rambling old mansion, so she leased the house with an option to buy.
Her first night in the old mansion explained why the lease price had been so reasonable. Shortly after 3:00 a.m., there came a rustling sound in the back hall. Then Rita heard slow footsteps, with one foot dragging, making their way from the front hall between the bedrooms and descending the main staircase.
This story has it share of bumps and chills, but I found it touching how her dog protected her during the time she and her friend lived her. Read more of this article at Fate Magazine.

Gettysburg is one of the places on my list to visit because I’ve heard so many stories about the haunted battlegrounds and houses out there. This year’s Ghost World’s conference promises to be a huge event, with lectures given by paranormal experts, a trade show selling books and ghost hunting equipment, and ghost tours of the Gettysburg area.

James Leininger is an 8 year-old boy who has been experiencing recurring nightmares of being shot down by a Japanese plane for the past 5 1/2 years. The nightmares began began shortly after his father took him to visit a Dallas flight museum when he was 18 months old.
“They were terrible, terrible,” Andrea Leininger told the Tribune-Review News Service in 2004. “He would scream, ‘airplane crash, on fire, little man can’t get out!’ He’d be kicking, with his hands pointing up at the ceiling.”
James’s parents believe that their son is a reincarnation of Lt. James McCready Huston, a World War II fighter pilot from Uniontown who was killed near Iwo Jima more than 50 years ago. The Leiningers appeared on the Montel Williams Show in 2004 and recently on Good Morning America.
