Man Survives 1066 Meter Fall
“As it was my first jump, I thought it was only a bad jump, and not a fall,” said the father of two.
Horrified family members looked on as Benno Jacobs, 35, struggled to disentangle the ropes of his parachute while hurtling through the air at a dizzying speed. The only thoughts on his mind were his children and a short prayer. It was short, indeed, because it took him 60 seconds to hit the ground.
Except for a bloodied nose and some disorientation, he wasn’t hurt when he landed in a ploughed field in Bloemfontein.
