The Medium Slated for the Chopping Block

I’ve enjoyed watching The Medium since its first season and was sorely disappointed when NBC put it on the Wednesday/10pm slot, after Lost, a show that has grown exceedingly tired to many people. I watched this season’s premiere, which was a very powerful episode. Since then, I haven’t watched the show because it comes on too late. Many people are in the same boat.
I wondered how much this would hurt the show. It didn’t surprise me to learn that The Medium is on the verge of being discontinued, along with other paranormal shows, such as Jericho and Crossing Jordan. I agree with BlogCritics in that NBC should have aired the show after Heroes. Instead, we get to watch the greed-fest called Deal or No Deal. Go figure.

NBC did a lot of schedule juggling last year that destroyed a lot of the ratings for some of the best shows. All the Law and Order series were highly rated, but when they moved L&O Criminal Intent to Tuesdays, the ratings sank. The same happened when they moved the original L&O to Fridays. I had always watched all the L&O shows, but kept forgetting about them in their new time slots. I wasn’t happy when Medium was moved either. The old schedule worked for me, and it obviously worked for the shows, but then you get some idiot at NBC who starts messing with things, and Wham— the ratings sink to the cellar.
Amazing that they haven’t figured out why the ratings dropped, isn’t it? Can the program scheduler instead of good shows!

I agree, D. The scheduler really sucked at his/her job.
