Auctioneers claim that they saw the face of Father Henry Garnet, a priest who was executed for treason over the Gunpowder Plot in 1606, could be seen peering from the cover of this rare and macabre book. The book, called A True and Perfect Relation of the Whole Proceedings Against the Late Most Barbarous Traitors, Garnet, a Jesuit and his Confederates, was published in 1606 just after his execution. Some claim that the book was bound in the late priest’s skin. It is considered so unusual that there is no reserve price attached to it.

Six year-old Baby has been dubbed “bionic” after surviving a 21-foot fall from a balcony window in September. Much to the veterinarian’s surprise, they found that Baby had metal plates in her front legs after she experienced a similar fall when she was a kitten.
“A cat falling from this height will commonly sustain severe injuries,” said Blue Cross chief veterinary surgeon, Jess Gower, “so we were stunned to find it was the second time she had done it.”
Evidently Baby has an extraordinary lucky streak.

Felpham residents, Leo and Rosie Lindsay were standing in front of a bedroom window on October 4 at approximately 6pm when they saw two football-shaped objects moving high in the sky above the trees. Leo was upstairs when he first spotted these UFOs. When he went down to alert his wife, they watched the objects change into ‘multi-faceted diamond shaped discs which moved further apart’. Ten minutes later, he and his family watched two RAF planes arrive on the scene. Mr. Lindsay has since been searching for people who happened to be in the area when the UFOs appeared.
“I can’t believe no one else saw the objects. I would estimate they were each about the size of a house.
“Anyone walking along Felpham seafront at that time would not have been able to miss them. I hope they will let me know on 01243 855728.”

Who can forget the giant marshmallow monster that threatened to crush New York City? That was one of my favorite scenes in the original Ghostbusters movie. After the sequel came and went over a decade ago, I had pretty much given up on seeing another one. Perhaps that’s a good thing, as the third through the forty-seventh sequels stink anyway.
A couple of months ago, I heard a mention of a Ghostbusters video game. Then I heard nothing more of it until now. Sierra made the official announcement last Friday. They plan to release the video game in the fall of 2008 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, Wii, Nintendo DS, and PC.
