Thanks to the success of YouTube, new sites are launching across the web, catering to niche audiences such as the paranormal community. I explored two of them tonight and found most of the content posted by amateur enthusiasts. However, if you have the patience to comb through the video titles, you’ll find some gems.
For instance, I found one of my favorite Sightings episodes, where a husband and wife spot the ghost of a woman along the highway during a late night drive. The woman was killed when her car careened off the road. Her ghost was trying to alert passing motorists that her son was still alive at the bottom of a ravine. You can watch this video at Ghost Videos.
Another site I enjoyed was Tube51.com, which as the name suggests, is dedicated to UFOs. Again, most of the content I found was amateurish. But one video caught my eye. Two men discover a large patch of scorched earth in the shape of a flying saucer. What happened to them afterwards intrigued me.

This day marks the 69th anniversary of the fire that destroyed the infamous Borley Rectory. Built on the site of an ancient monastery in 1863, the rectory was doomed from the start. Three families lived here, including the original owner, Rev. Henry Bull, only to be driven out by intense paranormal activity. All kinds of strange phenomenon have occurred here, the most malicious occurring when a child was attacked by “something horrible.”
Today, the Borley Rectory still touches visitors with an eerie feeling that is almost palpable. For a fascinating look at the Borley Rectory, read the article from Brooklyn Daily Eagle.

A new reality TV show (like we need more of those) is in the works, where kids ages 10 through 16 team up with a paranormal investigator from The Central Ohio Paranormal Society to hunt ghosts in historical hotspots throughout the US and Canada. Four kids from each city will be selected at random not only to learn about the history of their city, but to learn how to hunt ghosts. Kids that fit the age group may sign up at the Ghost Kids website.

Last year, I wrote an article about Sylvia Browne’s unfortunate misfire when she told a couple that their son was dead, when in fact, he was alive. Despite this very public setback, psychic detectives are playing a valuable role in helping law enforcement solve tough cases.
For instance, the UK’s renowned psychic, Gordon Smith, pinpointed the exact location where officials would find Blake Hartley’s (see photo) skeletal remains. Out of desperation, Hartley’s mother contacted Smith, who verified his credentials by describing a picture she had hung next to her phone the very day she went to see him. Smith contacted Blake, who gave him a cryptic answer about his death.
