Ghost Hunters Goes International

TAPS

Based on the popular Ghost Hunters reality TV show, Ghost Hunters International will debut on the SCI FI Channel in January 2008. The new team is comprised of veteran TAPS investigators Robb Demarest, Andy Andrews, Brian Harnois, and Donna La Croix, Barry Fitzgerald and newcomer Shannon Sylvia. Each week, they will travel across Europe to debunk its most legendary haunt spots.

I’d love to watch them tour the Edinburgh Castle, which is said to be the most haunted place in Scotland.

Most Haunted Live to Explore Winchester Mystery House

The Winchester Mystery House, 1906

The Most Haunted Live team is scheduled to return to the United States to investigate the Winchester Mystery House in San Jose, CA in a 7-hour live event. They will tour the 161-room estate with their high-tech equipment in an attempt to contact any spirits that might live there. As with the Eastern State Penitentiary investigation, multiple Web cams will stream live images from selected areas within the mansion.

TV viewers may actively participate in the broadcast by posting paranormal sightings, well wishes for the team, and suggestions on rooms to investigate, predictions and premonitions via message boards, text messaging, and faxing psychic art. Selected user-submitted content will be presented during the interactive segments of the event, as well as scrolled across the bottom of the screen during the live investigation.

Sound like fun? Then tune in to The Travel Channel on Friday, October 19 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

Ghosthunters Book Just Released

Ghosthunters, by John Kachuba

After reading a review of Ghosthunters by John Kachuba, I decided to check Amazon to see what other readers thought of the book. As of this date, there is only one review but the Search Inside feature is open. I looked at the table of contents, which has some interesting chapter titles, such as “The Real Ghost Whisperer”, “Ghostology 101″, and “Real Ghost Writers.”

Chapter One starts off with a fun ghost trivia quiz, followed by a discussion of what a ghost is and the different belief systems of popular cultures. I came away from this excerpt wanting to read more. Thank you, Shawn, for the unbiased review.
