A New Shot of the Face of Mars

The Face of Mars

In 1979, NASA captured an image of what appeared to be a face on the Cydonian plain surface of Mars. Former NASA scientist, Richard Hoagland became obsessed with the idea of this anomaly as being an architectural ruin, left by aliens. When NASA and the US government refused to examine his theory by exploring and taking more shots of The Face, he accused them of a cover-up. They and the media retaliated by ridiculing him.

Despite this, he and his team continued to pursue this story until NASA relented and took some more pictures of The Face and its surrounding structures. Hoagland claims that this new image revealed girders, windows, and walls.

Excited by this possibility, I went to the University of Arizona website and downloaded the 300mb image to my computer. Then I downloaded Express Viewer because my standard software programs couldn’t handle the sheer size of this file. I zoomed in on the image to try and find what Hoagland was talking about and failed. I could zoom in only so far before the image became a mess of pixels.

However, I zoomed in on the upper left corner of The Face and found that it was shaped in a 90º angle. I’ve never seen anything in nature shaped like that. This has me intrigued and wishing that NASA had taken some ground pictures because this one is too high up to see anything definitive.

Five-sided Pyramid

I thought I would also share this image of the five-sided pyramid, a shot taken during the 1976 expedition. You’ll find more images and diagrams at The Enterprise Mission.

Over Half of French UFOs Remain a Mystery

UFO

GEIPAN’s UFO archive contains more than 100,000 documents that tell bizarre tales of UFO and alien sightings. In one case, two children witnessed a spacecraft hovering over a field, with a band of black aliens running underneath it. They watched these beings get sucked up by the craft before it flew away. Later the parents and the gendarmerie went to the scene, where they found burn marks in the grass, measuring five meters in diameter. A strong odor of sulfur hung in the air for days.

What’s interesting is that only 9% of these cases have been solved, while 58% remain a mystery. Most of these sightings are nothing more than strange lights dancing in the sky. Jacques Patenet, who oversees this project, is hopeful that it will provide the scientific community with new meteorological or astronomical discoveries.

The material is the motherlode for UFO research, said Mr. Rutkowski, and it will be interesting to see if countries like the United States and Russia follow France’s lead.

France Unveils Its Secret UFO Files

CNES

France became the first country to launch its online UFO database, which documents more than 1,600 sightings that were registered with CNES agency since 1954. It crashed hours after its unveiling on Thursday, due to heavy traffic. Those that were able to upload it said that it was extremely well organized. If I’m able to gain access to the site this weekend, I’ll post my thoughts about it.

Here’s the link to the website: www.cnes-geipan.fr

Ellen Lloyd’s Theories on UFO Time Travel

UFO Time Travel

Ellen Lloyd of ufoarea.com wrote a provocative article about how UFOs travel through space. She talks about wormholes, star gates, dimensions and time warps as a means for aliens to travel effortlessly between universes. Most of what she wrote reminded me of the science fiction novels and movies I’ve read and seen over the course of my life. Still, it was very interesting reading, coming from a scientist.
