I found myself smiling as I read the interview with William Shatner Vulture Chatroom. This guy is so funny. I enjoyed the part of the interview where he was propositioned by Koko the gorilla. But then he piqued my curiosity when he fessed up to lying about his UFO experience. Since I don’t follow UFO stories as much as ghost stories, I did a bit of research to see what I could find. Here is one variation of the story.
. . . Shatner had a bizarre UFO experience while riding his motorcycle with friends in the Mojave desert. Supposedly Shatner’s bike stopped working properly. He crashed and became disoriented and his friends mysteriously lost track of him. Shatner claimed to see some kind of shadowy apparition beckoning him from the edge of the horizon. He followed this apparition for hours, eventually arriving at a petrol station where Shatner claimed he saw a silvery, metallic disc hovering overhead.
My search turned up another interesting tidbit (see link below), a video Shatner did with his daughter, Liz. The part where he talks about life on Mars is at the end of the segment, but you can fast-forward to the end. Be prepared for some vague claims.
Last year, I read many articles about UFO sightings all over the world. Halfway into this year, I’m noticing a strange trend. Most of the articles I have read center on England sightings. Is there some strange weather phenomenon that is causing these strange lights? Or have the aliens taken a liking to scones and tea?
Below is an article I found about the effect that Close Encounters of the Third Kind had on the public, when it was released in 1978. Naturally, reports of UFO sightings spiked to unprecedented levels. The Ministry of Defence has release 7,000 of these reports to the public.
Like the French archives, the majority of these reports have easy explanations. But there are a few that would leave you to wonder.
Alex Gibb, a non-believer of UFO’s, ran outside to investigate when he saw four strange lights hovering in the sky at around 9pm last Wednesday night. The video above is the footage that Alex took. So far no government agency has come forward to explain this sighting away, but the Androssan Herald has promised a follow-up story as well as exclusive pictures of the sighting.
Last night marked the 11th anniversary of the infamous Phoenix lights, which the government still claims were flares despite the testimonies of countless witnesses from all walks of life who said otherwise. The video above shows Jim D’Litoso of Village Labs explains how the lights weren’t flares. His presentation was interesting and thought-provoking.
I found another video from AZFamily.com that shows two opposing sides in this controversy, a Ufologist and a noted astronomer. You can either read the transcript of this newsbit or watch the video.
